{Review} New! Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue Medicated Lip Balm

Most people know that I love Babylips! When the first collection came out I never thought there would be others to follow, but I am so happy that there have been! I reviewed the first "original" babylips in August last year, and I'm still using them! To see that video, click below:

Then in March, some new, limited edition shades of Babylips came out, and I reviewed those here:
Then AGAIN this past August, the Electro version was released, and I reviewed them in this video:

So if you didn't know before reading this blog that I love Babylips, I think you do now!

So onto the newest Babylips: Dr. Rescue Medicated Lip Balm

I love the idea that these are medicated, because I have very chapped lips all year round, and especially in the winter.  So now that the seasons are changing, this is the perfect time to reveal a product like this!  Here they are in their packaging:

I had already opened them up at this point, but I thought it might be nice to show you the actual package they came in.  I love the soft colors, and the fact that they are white- it really gives you that soothing feeling just by looking at it!

I purchased all 6 colors, shown above

Here you can get a better idea of what the colors look like, and how adorable they look! (aw)

I swatched them above so that you can see the colors better, but to see them on my actual lips, check out my video here:

Overall I really enjoyed these new Babylips! I thought the colors were exceptional, most of them I liked more than any other collection I reviewed.  The only downside is that these are not scented like the other ones- they smell like menthol which is the ingredient in them that helps your chapped lips.  This smells exactly like Halls cough drops.  But I can actually get past that because I love the colors and I need the extra medicine on my lips.
By the way, I wore them yesterday and today my lips already feel better!

{Review} Urban Decay Brow Box

I have been searching for a new way to fill in my eyebrows ever since I flushed my Clinique eyebrow pencil down the toilet of my sister's apartment.  I need to be more careful. But it was a great excuse to buy this new product from Urban Decay! The Brow Box:
$29
I love how this brow box includes everything you need when on the go.  A lot of times when I travel, I forget important things like tweezers.  With this kit I'll have everything I need to create sleek brows!
My shade is brown sugar and it comes with 2 blendable colors & clear wax
I thought the color range could be improved; even though you can blend the 2 colors to achieve your perfect shade, people who have darker brows are excluded from this.  I also thought the colors were a bit too warm for me (but I have very ashy colored brows).
Bonus! Open the lid to find your tools & you get a mirror for on the go and traveling

Includes 2 mini angled brushes and a mini tweezer
The tweezer was very difficult to use at first! It's so small that I was having a hard time holding onto it and grasping the hairs.  I got the hang of it and for on the go I still like it!
Left is the darker color and right is the lighter one swatched

I enjoy using this brow box and I love how it comes with everything you need to create a full brow look- If you want more details, take a look at my video:

{Review} Marc Jacobs Makeup Line: Foundation, Mascara & Blush

So I finally tried out the new Marc Jacobs Makeup Line! I decided to split up my review into 3 separate videos/posts because I got so many goodies :)

This first post is the foundation, mascara and blush.

The foundation is very buildable, and starts out very sheer. It has a great texture but for my super dry skin, I didn't feel it was hydrating enough. I did enjoy the smell though, but be warned- it's very fragrant.

$48

The mascara was okay, it gave definition and was not clumpy, but I wasn't THAT excited over it. I'd rather have a more dramatic look for the cost.
$26

The blush selection was great! I picked out this color because it was unique to my collection of blushes.  Great color and it lasted all day!

$30

I really enjoyed trying out these products! I think there's pros and cons to all of them, so I recommend you giving them a try! For more details, check out my video:

{Review} Homemade Hair Mask for Dry/Frizzy/Damaged Hair

So my sister's wedding is coming up and I have been trying to get my hair in better condition for it.  I have a lot of breakage from highlighting my hair and on top of that, my hair is already dry to start with. I was thinking about purchasing the Kerastase Mask (Kerastase Women Resistance Ciment Anti Usure) because my sister said it did wonders on her hair, but I am so broke I had to look at other, cheaper options.
I forgot how much I used to love doing homemade hair masks, and I don't know why I ever stopped doing them.  Since I had no groceries in my house at the time, I wanted something that would be really simple to do, and good for very dry/damaged hair.  So I found this one and it was so easy to do, with great results!
Here is the recipe I used:
2 Tablespoons Honey
3 Tablespoons Olive Oil

(I actually doubled it because my hair is so thick)
You combine those ingredients in a bowl and microwave for around 15-30 seconds.  Put it all over your hair and cover with a shower cap.  Let this sit for around 30 minutes and then wash it off with shampoo and conditioner.

After I straightened my hair how I normally do, (which can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCpKldwSXGg) I found that my hair took less time to get straight since it wasn't as damaged (a huge plus!!) I also noticed that my hair was a lot shinier and had a more moisturized feel to it.  It felt a little oily, but since my hair was so dry to begin with, it was actually nice to feel it that way.

Would I suggest this to everyone? Definitely not. I think the olive oil can be way too greasy on many people, and you should only use this if your hair is very dry & damaged.
Overall, I would definitely use this again!
Check out this video where I demo how to do it here:
